Join a lean team of entrepreneurs on a mission to make learning addictive. We are bringing to the market language lessons automatically tailored to the proficiency of students. The lessons are built on native content (movies, songs, books…) extracted online with our inhouse software.

Our startup is currently incubated at Inria, the French Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology. We are looking for a versatile programmer to develop the algorithm at the heart of our technology and get it online.

Tasks:

• Plan, write and document code in view of its deployment and scaling
• Iterate on functionalities based on feedback from users and teaching experts
• Transfer NLP and formal concept analysis algorithms from Inria research into the product
• Develop APIs and web interface to provide the product to end-users

Requirements:

• Master in computer science, engineering or equivalent
• Experience overseeing IT projects from concept to deployment
• Experience managing databases, programming in Python and scraping websites
• Interest in natural language processing and computer-assisted learning algorithms
• Ability to work with English, French and Mandarin corpora would be an asset
• Prior experience in a startup would be valuable
• Sharp mind, adaptable and enterprising attitude
